   What the service is

   Marginalia produces a pre-submission self-check: concerns that referees are likely to raise about a manuscript. It does not judge whether the science is correct, does not replace peer review, and does not guarantee acceptance by any journal.

2. 02

   Your manuscript

   You keep all rights to what you upload. You confirm you are entitled to upload it. We use it only to produce your scan and reports, as described in the privacy policy.

3. 03

   Credits

   One credit buys one full report on one manuscript file. Credits are sold in packs, never expire, and can be used on any manuscript in your account, including revisions. A free scan does not use a credit; each account or browser gets two a day.

4. 04

   Refunds

   If a report fails to generate, its credit is returned automatically.

   If a full report contains fewer than three substantive issues, email us within 30 days of the report and we refund that report. For packs, the refund is the pack price divided by the number of credits in it.

5. 05

   Acceptable use

   Do not upload material you have no right to share, try to extract other users’ data, or automate free scans to avoid the daily limit.

6. 06

   Liability

   The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it.
